Our Missionaries

Jon and Sonnet Barr – The English Exchange, Moscow

The Exchange is a not for profit organization that has been providing social and cultural exchange for over ten years between American and Russian cultures in Moscow. Through professional training seminars, camps, cultural events, and the involvement in compassion outreach, the English Exchange provides opportunities to exchange ideas, cultural insights, history, and future dreams through personal interaction. We believe professional, social, and cultural exchange eliminates fear and provides a foundation for future cooperation and friendship.

Dave and Shirley Bauman – FamilyLife

Dave and Shirley work with the Field Ministries Department of Family Life.

Dave’s role is to manage the “Weekend to Remember” Family Life marriage conferences. He coordinates the weekend with the speakers, works with the hotel personnel, manages volunteers, is responsible for the conference on-site, and serves the conferees so they will not be distracted from the biblical principles shared during the weekend. Shirley manages the Resource Center and bookstore so conferees have resources available to enable them to go deeper into the biblical truths they learn that weekend.

David Hartwig – Faith Bible Camp

David Hartwig ("Twig") grew up through Faith Bible Camp. When Twig heard of the opening at FBC, he knew the Lord was calling him back home. Twig's breadth of skills and heart for the vision at FBC were a wonderful fit. Twig attributes much of FBC's success to the commitment of its volunteers as they respond to the Lord's call to be involved in the ministry at FBC-- a ministry that now sees both local and international impact through its ongoing international mission trips.

Tom and Lisa Phillips, and daughter Ahnya – Mongolia

Tom and Lisa have been serving the Lord in Mongolia for over 19 years now. They serve in the town of Tosontsengel and minister in evangelism, discipleship and church planting. While the main goal is see people come to salvation and be discipled, the Phillips have a secondary opportunity to be a blessing to their community through vegetable farming. Their farming operation provides the basis for their residence visa as well as giving them the opportunity to hire local people to work and not to mention the food that is provided as well.

David and Sarah vanOrman – Planters Seed Foundation

God has greatly blessed us! Growing up in rural America and being fourth generation farmers in the heartland has given us great experiences and a foundation of faith. It has been through the understanding of God’s commission and purpose for us that we have been directed to serve the rural Albanian people. It amazes us how God uses our life experiences for his kingdom. Even though we continue to operate the family farms, we have been able to help lead the indigenous church to do the hands on ministry on a daily basis.

When we are not in Albania we are at home in Green Valley, Illinois. We have three daughters, Cydil (Nathan), Jenny (Seth) and Hannah, and three grand-daughters, Ellie, Tua, Pippa and a grandson, David Reni.
